LaFollette Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

LaFollette Outpatient Rehabilitation Center is committed to helping people enhance their quality of life and achieve optimal independence. Our comprehensive outpatient programs include physical, occupational, and massage therapy, including worker’s compensation rehabilitation. The center offers the latest technology, including Wii, to meet all your rehabilitation needs.

Physical therapy
LaFollette's certified physical therapists can help patients to increase and maintain muscle strength and endurance, restore range of motion, and improve coordination and balance. Therapists also work with individuals to help reduce pain and muscle spasms, decrease swelling of joints, and promote healing of soft-tissue lesions. They promote healing for those recovering from surgery or from orthopedic or neurological conditions by providing:

  • Manual therapy
  • Balance and fall risk training
  • Sports medicine rehabilitation services
  • Patient and family education

We offer Direct Access, which allows you to see a physical therapist immediately so you can get the care you need right away. Most health insurance covers physical therapy obtained through Direct Access.

Occupational therapy
Our occupational therapists focus on upper-extremity injuries to reduce pain and improve range of motion, strength, and coordination of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Occupational therapy services are available for upper-extremity orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions, and pediatric rehabilitation. Therapists educate patients and family members, and provide therapies such as:

  • Hand therapy
  • Training for activities of daily living
  • Splinting

Massage therapy
Massage therapy promotes overall health and healing of the whole person, and can help reduce stress, decrease scar tissue and adhesions, and improve circulation throughout the body. Available massage therapies include:

  • Deep tissue (sport)
  • Relaxation
  • Cranial-sacral
