Improving cancer care through research
Some of today’s most effective cancer treatments are the result of clinical trials, providing life-saving treatments for conditions that were once untreatable. Tennova Cancer Centers conduct a variety of clinical trials to discover more effective therapies to treat cancer, offering area residents access to the latest cancer treatments.
Patients who participate in clinical trials can be among the first to benefit from treatments developed by some of the country’s leading cancer researchers, without having to travel to other parts of the country. Clinical trials are conducted in conjunction with national study groups such as the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), and numerous major pharmaceutical companies.
Providing better access to cancer care
Tennova Cancer Centers partner with Tennessee Cancer Specialists to provide greater access to clinical research studies within the region. We have established outreach clinics in remote areas of eastern Tennessee and Kentucky to provide residents with better access to care, including:
