Cardiovascular Research at Turkey Creek Medical Center participates in many global clinical trials to evaluate new pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Led by Interventional Cardiologist Malcolm Foster, MD, Cardiovascular Research has been involved in clinical trials for more than 10 years. We offer our patients new and innovative therapies and devices for the treatment of carotid artery stenosis, stroke prevention, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atrial fibrillation, and peripheral vascular disease.

Cardiovascular clinical trials at Physicians Regional Medical Center

Charles Treasure, M.D., a cardiologist with East Tennessee Heart Consultants, has been conducting cardiovascular research at Physicians Regional Medical Center for more than a decade. Current clinical trials focus on acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, the reduction of heart damage in heart attack patients, the reduction of cholesterol, and treatment of arrhythmias. Other studies are added as they become available.

The research team works with Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), Harvard Medical School (TIMI study group), the National Institute of Health, as well as with pharmaceutical companies.
