Inpatient Services

Intensive mental health programs

Tennova Healthcare’s voluntary inpatient treatment programs are designed to help adults achieve an optimal level of functioning and emotional stability. Our family-oriented programs encourage all members of the patient’s support system to participate throughout the healing process.

We provide stabilization, evaluation, planning, and treatment in a safe environment with 24-hour nursing care at our psychiatric units at Physicians Regional Medical Center. Trained behavioral health professionals focus treatment on mental, emotional, and physical needs, and help patients learn coping skills to manage their condition. We develop a customized treatment plan for each patient, drawing from a variety of services and therapies, including:

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Leisure skills and exercise groups
  • Patient education
  • Assistance with goal setting
  • Stress management and relaxation techniques
  • Reminiscence therapy
  • Memory and mental status assessment
  • Medication management and medical stabilization
  • Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
  • Discharge and aftercare planning

In addition to intensive inpatient treatment, we also offer partial-hospitalization programs and outpatient services.
