Tennova Healthcare Celebrates the Grand Opening of Tennova Walk-in Clinic - Choto

WHAT: Community Open House

Construction of the Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Choto is complete. To celebrate the grand opening of the new walk-in clinic, Tennova Healthcare invites community members to meet the providers and tour the 2,400-square-foot medical office. Light refreshments will be served.

The walk-in clinic is now open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Services include care for minor illnesses and injuries, such as earaches, flu-like symptoms, sore throats and sinus infections, lacerations, sprains, skin rashes, and urinary tract infections. No appointment is necessary. However, individuals can call to make an appointment for more general medical needs, such as sports physicals, immunizations and flu shots.

“Tennova Walk-In Clinic − Choto is designed to be a convenient option for children and adults when their primary care provider is not available,” said Ben Youree, chief executive officer of Turkey Creek Medical Center in West Knoxville. “This walk-in clinic provides easy access to quick care for residents and visitors in southwest Knox County and neighboring northeast Loudon County,”

Located in the new retail development near the intersection of Northshore Drive and Choto Road, the walk-in clinic features four exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and an on-site laboratory. Its location is in close proximity to several established and growing neighborhoods in the Choto, Concord and Farragut communities, as well as numerous recreational facilities, including marinas, parks, ballfields, a golf course, skate park and mountain biking trails.

“This area, where Knox and Loudon counties meet, is growing both residentially and recreationally,” Youree said. “Tennova’s newest walk-in clinic is now there to serve the community’s medical needs—conveniently and affordably—as walk-in visits are typically covered by health insurance in the same manner as a doctor’s office visit. And since the walk-in clinic is part of a regional healthcare network, patients will have the added peace-of-mind knowing that higher-level medical resources are available nearby, if additional tests or treatments are needed.”

The team at Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Choto is led by Kaneez Leonard, M.D., medical director and a family medicine physician with Tennova Primary Care – Farragut, and includes nurse practitioners as well as laboratory technicians.
