3/18/2019
Ranking reflects care that is effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered
LEBANON, TENNESSEE (March 18, 2019) – Tennova Rehab Center at McFarland announced that in the most recent rankings it placed in the top ten percent of inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRF) in the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) database. Nearly 875 US-based IRFs were ranked in 2018, making Tennova Rehab Center at McFarland a top-100 facility.
“This recognition acknowledges the hard work and dedication of all our inpatient rehabilitation team members,” said Jay Hinesley, chief executive officer of Tennova Healthcare – Lebanon. “Every day, they strive to deliver effective, compassionate care in an environment where the primary focus is always on the patient. Placing in the top ten percent of all rehab facilities in the US affirms that our approach and our emphasis are right where they should be.”
The rankings are determined using UDSMR’s program evaluation model, a case mix- and severity-adjusted tool that provides facilities with a composite performance score and percentile ranking drawn from nearly three-quarters of all IRFs in the country.
The evaluation model uses the indicators of efficiency and effectiveness contained in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument, a reporting tool used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The goal is to recognize high-performing facilities for the delivery of quality patient care that is effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered.
“The whole idea behind this award is to pinpoint high-performing facilities like Tennova Rehab Center at McFarland,” Hinesely said, “but also to identify best practices from those facilities and share them with others across the country. We’re honored to be identified as a leading provider in the field.”
